Our Work

Every program we run is a bridge, connecting people, cultures, and opportunities across the Americas. From cultural exchanges to educational initiatives, every project we undertake is rooted in our belief that culture and education have the power to transform lives. Here is a look at what we have been building.

In October 2025, Americas Cultural Alliance, in partnership with Centro Colombo Americano, coordinated a two-week teacher immersion program in Boston for a group of educators from Rionegro, Colombia. The program was made possible through the support of the City of Rionegro and its Bilingual Education Initiative, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening English language education and global competency among Colombian teachers.

Participants spent their mornings in language courses at EF Boston, while Americas Cultural Alliance planned and executed a full afternoon program of professional development and cultural activities. Educators visited some of the city's most prominent academic institutions — including the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Harvard University, MIT, and Berklee College of Music — gaining a close look at higher education in the United States and opening conversations about academic opportunities, scholarships, and international collaboration.

The program also included a visit to Lawrence High School, where teachers had the opportunity to observe American public school educators at work and gain firsthand perspective on classroom practices, school culture, and the challenges and strengths of the U.S. education system. Cultural visits to Boston's museums and historic sites rounded out the experience, giving participants a deeper appreciation for the city's heritage and its role as a hub of education and innovation.

Participants completed the program with high levels of satisfaction, highlighting the quality of the academic programming, the richness of the cultural experience, and the warmth and organization of the ACA coordination team. The 2025 cohort marks the first edition of what Americas Cultural Alliance envisions as a growing initiative — expanding access to international educational experiences for teachers across the Americas.

MPulse Jazz Scholarship — University of Michigan 2026

Americas Cultural Alliance is proud to partner with the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance to offer a full scholarship for one outstanding young musician to attend the MPulse Jazz Program this summer in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

MPulse is an intensive, all-encompassing program designed for high school jazz musicians. Running from July 5–11, 2026, participants engage in approximately 35 sessions over one week, including jazz composition, improvisation, beginning jazz arranging, small ensemble performance, a studio recording session, and much more. All sessions are led by University of Michigan Jazz Faculty, SMTD applied faculty, and professional jazz artists.

Through this partnership, the University of Michigan is providing full tuition, room, and board for the scholarship recipient. Americas Cultural Alliance arranged the scholarship and is covering the cost of airfare, ensuring that this extraordinary opportunity is fully accessible to the selected student.

Help Send Antonia from Medellín to Michigan

María Antonia Arango is the Americas Cultural Alliance's first scholarship recipient. A music student from Red de Musicas de Medellin and recent high school graduate, Antonia is a talented tenor saxophonist from Medellín, Colombia, Antonia dreams of pursuing a career in music. She has been awarded a transformative scholarship to attend the MPulse Jazz Program, where she will deepen her musical training, connect with world-class educators and fellow musicians, and participate in her first international educational experience.

This opportunity reflects ACA's commitment to opening doors for the next generation of artists across the Americas by connecting talented young people with life-changing educational and cultural experiences.

Your support can help make this journey possible. By contributing to Antonia's travel fund, you are helping send a young musician from Medellín to Michigan and investing in the power of education, cultural exchange, and artistic opportunity.
